| Q. When cold weather is forecast, what can I do to prevent my pipes from freezing & potentially bursting? |
A. There are many things that you can do to prevent your pipes from freezing. 1. Check underneath all kitchen and bathroom cabinets that are located on the outside walls. These pipes are most likely to freeze. Leave your cabinet doors open on frigid nights to let the warm air in. 2. Insulate Pipes that are located on outside walls. 3. Keep heat at 70 degrees on frigid days. If your pipes do freeze, heat the area immediately. If the pipe conditions does not improve, call your Plumber immediately to avoid burst pipes. |

| Q. How do I get my frozen pipes thawed? |
| A. Apply heat to the section of the pipe using an electric hairdryer or space heater (away from all materials) or by wrapping pipes with towels soaked in hot water. DO NOT USE a blowtorch, kerosene, or propane heater or any other open flame device. Do not leave heat sources unattended. If it does not thaw within a few hours, you should call us at 802.766.4949 so we can attend to it to avoid burst pipes. |

| Q. Will I be given an estimate before a job is done? |
| A. If you request an estimate on repairs or service, you will be provided one before the work is initiated. In the event that there is diagnosis that needs to be done, or we are uncertain of exact cost, we will provide you with our hourly rate. |

| Q. What should I do if my furnace stops working? |
A. If your furnace stops running, do the following steps first before calling us. In many cases, the problem can be fixed by the homeowner and a service call is not necessary. 1. Check Your emergency switch 2. Check your breaker box, has the breaker for the furnace kicked? 3. Check your tank, does it have fuel? Is the gauge reading correctly? 4. Increase the temperature on the thermostat, see if that causes it to turn on. 5. Lastly, if all the above doesn’t work, hit your RED RESET button only ONCE. If you do all the above, and your furnace still isn’t working, call us and we will send a technician to your home to repair it. |

| Q. How can I prevent clogged drains? |
| A. Do not rinse fats or cooking oils down the kitchen sink. Liquid fats solidify in the cold pipes and creates clogs. To help prevent drain clogs, you can fit all your showers and tubs with a strainer that catches soaps, hair and other loose particles. We recommend for weekly maintenance, you pour a tea kettle of boiling hot water down the drain to help clear clogs. |

| Q. Are liquid drain openers (like Drano & Liquid Plumber) safe to us on my pipes? |
| A. We don’t recommend using them. The caustic ingredients found in them can get trappedin your pipes and it can severely damage them. We can snake the drain safely and clear pipes of all clogging. |

| Q. Does the price of oil change daily? |
| A. Prices can changes daily based on the market. We are always competitive in our prices and stay current with the market values. |
